History Redux

Revisionist History Study Group

Monday, July 6   7 – 9 pm

Free for members, $5 for non-members.

Our book this month is Flying Serpents and Dragons, the story of Mankinds’ Reptilian Past, by R. A. Boulay.  Our copy has been checked out, but there is an online copy at http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/serpents_dragons/boulay00e.htm

We’ve been having so much fun looking at the evidence, both archeological and mythological, of a much more interesting and complicated history of the human race than that which has gone before.

This is one of the over-view books, looking at the story of Adam and Eve as told by texts other than Genesis, the precursors of Genesis.  Boulay looked at myths from around the world to build a story of the Annuni, the reptilian race that helped genetically build homo sapiens.

You need not have read the book to attend the discussion, where those who have read the book will recount to the others what they remember.  This is a good way to learn complex information, and helps everyone get a better understanding of the material.

New Books Available for Members to Borrow

Respectful visitors, whether members or not, are always welcome to read books in our Library, when we are open.

The links to the books below go to our website, since Amazon does not like us linking to their website from our email. Our website will provide the links to the books on Amazon if you want more information about a specific book.

Pennick explores the magical pagan traditions of the Celtic, Germanic, Scandinavian, Slavonic, and Baltic cultures.  He examines the concept of Wyrd, as it empowers the arts of operative magic, such as direct natural magic and talismanic or sigil magic.

He emphasizes the importance of the cycles of Nature, exploring the eightfold sun dial and the four ways the solar year is defined.  He looks at the days of the week and their symbolic association with different deities as well as why some acts are done on certain days. He also examines sacred spaces, household magic, protection spells, and the role of music in the Northern Tradition.

The Cygnus Mystery: Unlocking the Ancient Secret of Life's Origins in the Cosmos

by Andrew Collins, 1999

The Cygnus Constellation holds the key to proving that life originated in the heavens—and will ultimately return there. Collins has uncovered an astronomy that is about 17,000 years old, with standing stones, temples, and monuments across the globe oriented towards Cygnus’s stars. He also found that the use of deep caves by Palaeolithic man led to the rise of religious thought and the belief in life’s stellar origins. High-energy particles come from the binary star Cygnus X3. The DNA of life came originally from deep space.

We recently received a collection of atheist books, here is one:

The God Delusion

by Richard Dawkins, 2008

The world's most prominent atheist asserts the irrationality of belief in God and the grievous harm religion has inflicted on society, from the Crusades to 9/11.

With rigor and wit, Dawkins examines God in all his forms, from the sex-obsessed tyrant of the Old Testament to the more benign (but still illogical) Celestial Watchmaker favored by some Enlightenment thinkers

Kuan Yin: Accessing the Power of the Divine Feminine

by Daniela Schenker 2007

Devotee Daniela Schenker offers readers an exquisite book of full-color photographs and illustrations, along with invocations, meditations, and visualizations to summon the healing energy of this goddess of compassion and liberation.

Library Wish List

  • Thank you for the printer!  Now we need some cartridges – Canon PG240, CL-241.
  • Sheet protectors.  We have lots of pamphlets that need to be protected with sleeves.
  • We have a plexiglass sheet that we’d like to attach as a front door to a book shelf. We need help cutting the plexiglass, and getting the right kind of hinge and attaching it.

Chief Arvol Looking Horse Speaks

On this June 21st, 2015 we as the Spiritual People, from the guidance of Great Spirit, will light our sacred fire of 20 years.  My heart is heavy as I share my feelings with each and every one of you; it feels as though humanity has gone too far. It was shown in a dream long ago, that we would come to a time in this global community, we would have to unite at our Sacred Sites once again to bring back healing….They need every person's prayer from the Global Community.
